Industrial asset protection · Nelspruit, South Africa

A coating is only as good as the surface beneath it.

Floors, linings and structures built for aggressive industrial environments.

ChemiCorp Projects is the specialised project-execution division of ChemiCorp, a South African industrial and chemical business founded in 2011. We assess, specify and install resinous flooring, acid-resistant linings and corrosion-control systems — and we maintain our own chemical plant with them.

What we do

Integrated specialist capabilities

Asset-protection problems rarely begin with a product. They begin with a failing floor, a corroding structure, a chemically attacked substrate or deteriorated concrete. We treat them as technical problems requiring complete solutions.

Industrial Flooring

Resinous flooring systems selected around substrate condition, traffic, chemical exposure, hygiene, cleaning regime and operational requirements — from 2.5 mm to 6 mm.

MF · HF · UT systems

Chemical & Acid-Resistant Linings

Protective lining solutions for floors, containment and process infrastructure exposed to aggressive chemicals — including EPO TAR systems with acid-resistant tile and brick.

6 mm EPO TAR · tile & brick

Corrosion Protection

Assessment, preparation, protective coating maintenance and corrosion-control interventions in aggressive industrial environments.

Concrete Repair

Repair of deteriorated industrial concrete as part of an integrated protective-system scope, not an isolated patch.

Waterproofing & Sealing

Protection and detailing of structures, interfaces and joints where water ingress or movement must be controlled.

Industrial Maintenance

Planned and remedial maintenance of protective systems and industrial assets, informed by eight years of running and maintaining our own chemical plant.

Surface preparation

Floor preparation
is not optional

Correct preparation creates the profile a coating system needs to bond and perform. Skip it, and the best system on the market will still fail — usually at the worst possible time for production.

Why proper prep matters

  • Improves coating adhesion
  • Removes weak and contaminated material
  • Reveals cracks and substrate defects before they are buried
  • Reduces the risk of peeling and delamination

Our preparation process

  1. 1Inspect and assess the substrate
  2. 2Mechanically prepare the concrete
  3. 3Repair cracks, spalls and damaged areas
  4. 4Treat joints and check moisture
  5. 5Clean thoroughly before coating

Why the profile matters

UNPREPARED COATING LIFTS AT THE INTERFACE WEAK LAITANCE LAYER LEFT IN PLACE MECHANICALLY PROFILED MECHANICAL KEY LOCKS THE SYSTEM IN SOUND, PROFILED SUBSTRATE

Left: a coating applied over laitance and contamination is bonded only to a weak surface layer, and fails at that interface. Right: mechanical preparation removes it and creates the profile the system keys into.

System build-up

What 4 mm actually means

Portfolio designations — 2.5 mm, 4 mm, 6 mm — describe the total built thickness of a bonded system, not a single coat. Each layer does a different job, and the detailing at the edges decides how long the middle lasts.

Bonded system, in section

4 mm TOPCOAT BODY COAT PRIMER, KEYED INTO THE PROFILE CONCRETE EXISTING SECTION · NOT TO SCALE

Indicative build-up. Layer count, thickness and materials are selected per project against substrate condition and service environment.

Coving & wall junction detail

SEALED TERMINATION INTO THE WALL FACE COVE — ONE CONTINUOUS SURFACE, NO JOINT FLOOR SYSTEM SLAB WALL DETAIL · NOT TO SCALE

Open wall-to-floor joints trap water, product and cleaning chemicals. Coving carries the system up the wall in one continuous surface so there is no joint to fail.

Acid lining project

A containment structure lined for aggressive service: a 6 mm EPO TAR protective membrane overlaid with acid-resistant tile and brick, with every corner, wall and floor interface detailed by hand. Built in layers, because a lining is only as good as its weakest joint.

System installed

  • 6 mm EPO TAR protective lining
  • Acid-resistant tile and brick lining
  • Detailed corners, walls and floor
  • Professional on-site installation

Installation sequence

  1. 1Protective lining applied — 6 mm EPO TAR
  2. 2Wall lining installed
  3. 3Floor lining installed
  4. 4Completed acid lining handed over

Built in layers

6 mm ACID-RESISTANT BRICK & TILE BEDDING 6 mm EPO TAR CONCRETE EXISTING STRUCTURE SECTION · NOT TO SCALE

The membrane is the chemical barrier; the brick and tile take the mechanical and thermal punishment above it. Both are needed — neither works alone. Only the membrane thickness is dimensioned here; brick, bedding and joint dimensions are selected per project.

Who we are

We maintain our own plant with this work

ChemiCorp operates its own copper sulphate manufacturing facility at approximately 280 tonnes per month. For eight years we have carried out corrosion control, acid-resistant lining work and protective coating maintenance in that environment — which gives us an owner's perspective on service life, downtime and maintainability.

Assessment · specification · supply · execution · support

The Projects division extends ChemiCorp's capabilities beyond chemical supply and manufacturing into specialised asset protection, industrial flooring, protective linings, corrosion control, rehabilitation and industrial maintenance.

It is backed by an operating industrial business with chemical procurement across China, India, Europe, the Americas and the Middle East, hazchem delivery capability, and established relationships in mining, agriculture and industrial markets — which shows up on site as supply continuity and material access.

Commercial case

Why ChemiCorp Projects

Six reasons that hold up under questioning from an engineering or maintenance manager.

Industrial operating experience

Direct experience maintaining our own corrosive chemical-production environment.

Specialist project leadership

Cameron Tarrant-Philips brings an established portfolio of flooring and lining work completed before joining ChemiCorp.

Problem-first system selection

The project starts with the operating requirement and the substrate, not a predetermined product.

Single-point accountability

Assessment, material selection, supply, execution and support through one partner.

Industrial sourcing platform

ChemiCorp's chemical procurement, manufacturing and logistics capability supports execution.

Maintenance perspective

Solutions considered against service life, downtime, access and future maintainability.

HSEQ

Health, safety,
quality & environment

We recognise the HSEQ requirements of industrial project execution. Specific certifications, safety statistics, applicator accreditations and formal management-system claims are deliberately left off this page until they are verified — we would rather understate them than have a client discover the gap on site.
